October Art Exhibit

During the month of October, stop by the library to view stunning oil paintings by artist Nancy Dimicelli. Her large and vibrant pieces can be found in both the Fireplace Room and on the River Wall.

Nancy's older sister, Adena Zastow, was her earliest inspiration. Nancy saw what her sister painted in her bedroom, and wanted to also paint.  She also has had a mentor in her friend, Terrance Coffman, who told her "to just grab paint and tools and to clear your mind and go for it." That philosophy has worked well for Nancy and can be seen in each of her pieces.

Nancy also gets inspiration from within herself and from nature. Using unconventional tools to create her paintings, she lets them tell her when they are finished and ready to be shared with the world.

Learn more about Nancy, her artwork, and her inspiration by watching her Meet the Artist interview.

Art is available for viewing during regular library hours and can be found throughout the library. Viewers are encouraged to leave written comments for the artists in the binder located in the Fireplace Room.

Thank you to Nancy Dimicelli for displaying her artwork at HPL. Special thanks to Teresa Nguyen and JATV Media Services for the engaging interview that highlights our artist's wonderful work.
