HPL Board Appoints New Library Director

Hedberg Public Library is pleased to announce the appointment of Eric Robinson as the next Library Director, effective Monday, May 13, 2024. With a wealth of experience in library administration and a passion for community engagement, Robinson is poised to lead the library into its next chapter of growth and innovation.

"We are thrilled to welcome Eric Robinson as our new Library Director," said Dr. Patty Hernandez, President of the Hedberg Public Library Board of Trustees. "His proven track record of leadership, dedication to promoting literacy, and commitment to serving the community make him the ideal candidate to lead our library forward."

Robinson brings a diverse background in library services, having served in various leadership roles throughout his career. Most recently, he served as the Library Director at Dwight Foster Public Library in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, where he played a pivotal role in implementing innovative programming and enhancing library services to meet the community's evolving needs.

As the incoming Library Director, Robinson is eager to build upon the strong foundation laid by his predecessors. He looks forward to leading the dedicated team at HPL and to working collaboratively with staff, patrons, and community partners to expand access to resources, enhance services that enrich the lives of residents, promote literacy, and foster a culture of lifelong learning and discovery.

"I am truly honored to have been chosen for this role and am excited about the possibilities that lie ahead," said Robinson. "I am eager to bring my skills, experience, and passion to the team, working alongside each of you and the librarians to achieve our collective goals."

Robinson holds a Masters in Library and Information Science from UW-Madison,  and his passion for libraries extends beyond his professional endeavors. He is an active member of several library associations and has participated in numerous initiatives to advance library services and advocate for the importance of public libraries in communities.
