Presented by author PJA Fullerton

This session is an opportunity to learn how to effectively present your written words to an audience. Many authors do not understand that marketing their writing may require them to become presenters on book festival panels, media interviews, at readings and signings...even in front of an agent. This session focuses on concrete skills to help authors become better public readers. The following topics are included:

  • How to engage your audience and prepare them to actively listen.
  • How to read a poem so that it sings with energy and emotion, rather than rhymes.
  • How to read dialogue that doesn't require you to imitate a host of different character voices.
  • How to imbue your words with the action they describe and the emotion they contain.
