Celebrate International Joke Day and honor Janesville humorist Mary McBride. When legendary comedian Phyllis Diller set the world record for laughs in a minute, many of her punchlines came from the pen of Janesville’s own Mary McBride. Mary's son, Bill McBride, will tell the story of how Mary began writing jokes for Diller as well as Mary’s adventures as a bestselling author. To cap it all off, Bill will also attempt to break Phyllis Diller’s world record of 12 laughs per minute by delivering 101 of his mother’s one-liners in honor of her 101st birthday.
