July's art exhibits feature the artwork of Alice Blue and Margery Wakefield.
Their pieces include paintings done in oils, acrylics, mixed media and jewelry.
The Fireplace Room is where you can find the artwork of Margery Wakefield. Margery's artwork is mixed media that includes very creative techniques and tools like hair curlers and bubble wrap. The paper she uses in her pieces is artwork in itself as it is all handmade by paper-making artists. She believes everyone should embrace their own creativity and "just go for it." To learn more about Margery and her artwork, you can watch her Meet the Artist interview.
On the River Wall, we highlight the paintings of Alice Blue. Alice has won several state awards for her artwork and had it featured in Midwest Review magazine. When possible, she enjoys painting plein air and uses oils and acrylics to depict the places she has visited around the world. She also strives to capture the essence of nature and her emotions connected to what she sees on canvas. To learn more about Alice and her artwork, please watch her Meet the Artist interview.
