Budding Young Artists Fill HPL in March

March is the month for student art. Throughout the library, you can find art from students at School District of Janesville (SDJ) schools, including: Parker and Craig high schools; Edison, Franklin, and Marshall middle schools; and, Adams, Lincoln, Jefferson, Van Buren, and Washington elementary schools. These talented, young artists will exhibit their 2D in the Gallery, Fireplace Room, and on the River Wall. The display case next to the Fireplace Room will hold 3D pieces that will have you in awe.

Also, in March, take a stroll through the Children's Room at HPL to view the SDJ's Preschool 4 Janesville (P4J) and enjoy what the littles have created in their annual library-hosted exhibit.

Art is available for viewing during regular library hours and can be found throughout the building, including our new art space that we call the Gallery, located just past the Atrium as you walk toward the skylight. Viewers are encouraged to leave written comments for the artists in the binder located in the Fireplace Room.

Thank you to HPL Art Committe member, Jon Maglio, and all the SDJ art teachers for sharing their student's artwork with the staff and public at HPL. Special thanks to Teresa Nguyen and JATV Media Services for the interviews that let us learn more about each of the artists and their inspirations.  You can find the Meet the Artist interview with Jon here.
