Book Fest 2025 to Feature Author Maggie Ginsberg

Hedberg Public Library is pleased to announce award-winning Wisconsin author Maggie Ginsberg will serve as the keynote author at HPL Book Fest 2025 on Saturday, June 21. Maggie's debut novel, Still True, was published by the University of Wisconsin Press in September 2022 and won the 2023 WLA Literary Award for Fiction. It was also the honorable mention selection for the 2022 Edna Ferber Fiction Book Award, one of four finalists for the Chicago Writers Association’s 2023 Book of the Year, a 2023 Midwest Book Awards silver medal winner in the Literary/Contemporary/Historical Fiction category, and one of three finalists for the Women’s Fiction Writers Association’s STAR Award for Outstanding Debut.

HPL Book Fest is in its fourth year and previously featured Wisconsin Poet Laureate, Dasha Kelly Hamilton in 2022, New York Times best-selling Humorist, Michael Perry in 2023, and USA Today bestselling author, Ann Garvin, Ph.D., in 2024.

The day-long celebration of local writers and books will include craft-focused writing workshops and an author fair during which local writers will be able to promote, sign, and sell copies of their works. An author reception featuring Maggie Ginsberg will be held Friday, June 20 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

The HPL Book Fest 2025 committee is currently accepting writing workshop proposals and applications to host a table at our author fair. Authors from all backgrounds, including traditionally published, self-published, and authors from underrepresented communities, are encouraged to submit a proposal and/or application using the links below.
