During the month of April, stop by the library to view stunning art by Anthony DiNicola and Alicia Reid; and display groups Wisconsin Chapter of World Organization of China Painters and Janesville Camera Club. Each artist and group bring much creativity and artistic ability to Hedberg Public Library.
Anthony (Tony) DiNicola grew up in Milwaukee and has displayed his work throughout the state. Tony’s inspiration comes from painting outdoors as he enjoys the smells, sounds and general ambiance. As once told by a mentor, and Tony still believes, “Creating good art is 90% work, 10% talent.” Tony's oil and acrylic paintings can be found in both the Gallery and Fireplace Room.
Alicia Reid, former owner of Raven’s Wish in Janesville, has always had an eye for art and creativity. Alicia creates her work as a series of acrylic and collage paintings which explore the importance and prevalence of science in our lives. She uses a mixture of materials including maps, diagrams, music, and math to highlight the roles of close observation, systematic experimentation, and the pursuit of knowledge in a colorful, yet whimsical style. Alicia’s acrylic and collage art can be found both in the Gallery and on the River Wall.
Wisconsin Chapter of World Organization of China Painters have their variations of porcelain painting displayed in the 360 Display Case near the Fireplace Room. This display includes over 50 original pieces.
Janesville Camera Club has a variety of photographs on display in the Gallery. The Janesville Camera Club is for photography enthusiasts of all skill levels and interests. The group's monthly meeting features a speaker or program on camera or photography related topics.
Art is available for viewing during regular library hours and can be found throughout the library. Viewers are encouraged to leave written comments for the artists in the binder located in the Fireplace Room.
