2024 Summer Library Challenge Begins June 10

Join the 2024 Summer Library Challenge

Hedberg Public Library is excited to offer the Adventure Begins At Your Library summer library challenge starting on Monday, June 10. This free program for babies, kids, teens, and adults is a fun way to keep track of your reading and activities and earn prizes and a free book.

Register for the summer library challenge anytime from June 10-August 2 at the library, on our website or by downloading the Beanstack app for iOS or Android.

Once you have created your Beanstack account, registered for the Summer Library Challenge, and signed in, you can begin!

  • Pick up a lanyard, and your first HPL button or sticker at the library’s Summer Desk, at HPL Express in Uptown Janesville, or on the HPL Bookmobile.
  • Complete badges by reading or completing fun activities.
  • Earn weekly prizes.

READ 700,000 MINUTES BY AUGUST 2
We’re challenging all participants to help us reach 700,000 MINUTES of reading this summer! Every minute that you log will help us toward this goal. If we reach 700,000 minutes by August 2, we’ll have a special party on Monday, August 5 from 4-6 p.m.

SHARE YOUR ADVENTURES
Join us in our “Share Your Adventures” activity. Stop at the library, grab a sheet of paper, and draw your adventure. The adventure you draw could be an adventure in a book, one you’ve had in Janesville, an adventure you would like to have - or anything you can imagine. Bring your drawing back to the library so we can post it on our wall of adventures! Check back often to see the fun experiences people share all summer long!

Children’s Room Staff Visiting Schools to Promote the Summer Library Challenge
Look for staff from the Children’s Room as they are out visiting the public and private elementary schools in May to promote the Adventure Begins At Your Library summer library challenge. Staff look forward to visiting the students and staff at the elementary schools in Janesville!
