"If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need." - Cicero

Cathy's life-long interest in travel and other cultures began with access to books and media in a library setting. She looks forward to advocating for the Hedberg Public Library so that the next generation of dreamers can be captivated and motivated by things they read about in a library.

In addition to serving on the Hedberg Public Library Board of Trustees, Cathy is a member of the City of Janesville's Advisory Committee on Appointments (ACA) and volunteers for a number of other local community initiatives. She spends her free time hanging out with her four-legged friends, travelling with her husband, and listening to audiobooks while puttering in her garden. She is a fan of science fiction and fantasy novels. She enjoys reading a series and then binge-watching the made-for-TV version. She currently reading Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo in anticipation of the next season on Netflix. She anxiously awaits the arrival of the series A Court of Roses and Thorns by Sarah J. Maas on Hulu.
