Katy was born and raised in Appleton, WI. She graduated from Lawrence with a degree in Political Science and later completed a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Katy and her husband raised their two sons in Janesville, making frequent trips to the public library throughout those busy years! Katy taught in Milton until her retirmement in 2013. In the years since, she has been very involved in climate advocacy, working with Citizens' Climate Lobby to push for federal climate action. Katy is currently serving her second 3-year term on the board.
