“A library is infinity under a roof.” - Gail Carson Levine

Dr. Grandt first became officially involved with the Hedberg Public Library (HPL) in 2015 through her participation with the Leadership Development Academy (LDA). As part of  LDA, each team of professionals was tasked with completing a community service project of some type. Dr. Grandt’s team reached out to HPL staff to see if there was anything on their wishlist, and this collaboration culminated in the donation of the library's very first bookmobile, in the spring of 2016. With the addition of the bookmobile, HPL has been able to expand its reach within the community so that our library now includes not only infinity under a roof but also infinity on wheels!

In addition to serving on the HPL Board of Trustees, Dr. Grandt has proudly served as the principal at Harrison Elementary School since 2011. She has a Master’s in Social Work from UW-Madison and a Doctorate of Education from Edgewood College.  Dr. Grandt’s husband has a Master’s in Library and Information Sciences from UW-Madison and works for South Central Library System. They have raised two children here in Janesville, and all four members of the family are avid readers and avid library users. In addition to reading, the family enjoys traveling, watching movies, and dining out, particularly at supper clubs.
