Stuart Stotts is an author, singer and storyteller from DeForest. Since 1986, he's been traveling around the world, delighting audiences of all ages with humor, movement, positive energy and lots of opportunities to participate. No stranger to the Hedberg Library, Stuart looks forward to celebrating with you and your families again at a concert.
Pre-registration highly recommended for prime pod seating, which is limited to 20 pods. Pre-registered pods must be claimed by 1:55 p.m. Day-of, walk-in space will be available farther back. Register for 1 of the 20 available pods by listing one contact name. In case of inclement weather, a decision will be made by 10:00 a.m. whether the program will be cancelled, rescheduled or pivot to virtual.

   The Very Hungry Caterpillar StoryWalk Kickoff at Rotary Botanical Gardens

Join us at Rotary Botanical Gardens to celebrate the StoryWalk garden exhibit featuring the book The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle.  Enjoy activities for all ages throughout the Gardens.  Admission on Wednesday, June 16 is by donation.  Admission on regular days requires a small fee.  The StoryWalk is a partnership between Rotary Botanical Gardens and Hedberg Public Library.

Palmer Park Hilltop Pavilion Fire Pit
Join T.H.E.M. Hedberg Public Library's storytelling troupe, along with library storytellers Elizabeth Matson and Jamie A. Swenson for an evening of summer storytelling in pods around the campfire perfect for school-age to adult listeners.  Masks encouraged outside of your household's assigned pod and when unable to maintain 6 feet distance from other groups.  Stories will range from rollicking, to scary, to the absurd.  You never know what our storytellers have up their sleeves!  Parks & Recreation staff will stoke the fire and provide pre-packaged s'more surprises.

Celebrate Pollinator Week!  Learn about bees and their important work as pollinators with hands-on activities in and around the library's Pollinator Garden with the garden's volunteer caretakers.  Due to the close quarters in the garden, masks will be required for this outdoor program.  Rain date is Wednesday, June 23.

Have you ever dreamed of spending the night at the library? Well now your stuffed friend can have that experience! Stop by the library between 5 and 6 p.m. to enjoy activities with your stuffie before telling them goodnight. Pick your stuffie back up on Thursday along with pictures of all the fun that they had at the library overnight.

   Telling Your Tale for ages 10 to adult

Everyone has a unique story to tell. What's yours? Through the use of inspirational texts and writing prompts, we'll create short memoirs perfect for sharing with family and friends. Open to writers ages 10 through adult. Bring writing materials such as journals, tablets or laptops.  
The theme for June 28th is Celebrations/Traditions.
Registration is required and limited to 20 participants.  Register online or call 608-758-6585.
Masks are strongly recommended when unable to maintain 6 feet distance from others.
Additional sessions will be held on July 12, and July 26. Sign up for as many sessions as desired.

Find the 10 markers around the library property.  Use your own device to scan QR codes to reveal the answers.  Gather the secret phrase from the clues and come to the Children's Desk for a prize!  One prize per participant, while supplies last.  Don't have a device.  You can still play the unplugged version.
