   International Day of Peace

Saturday, September 23, 2017 from 1:00 PM to 04:00 PM

Join us in our celebration of the International Day of Peace.  Meet a panel of high school students who will discuss the meaning of peace and the role and responsibilities of their generation to help bring about meaningful and lasting peace. We will have a presentation on the United Nations Together Project.  There will also be information booths with community organizations working on peace and activities for children and families.  No registration necessary.

Join storyteller and musician Stuart Stotts and storyteller Elizabeth Matson for an evening of spooky stories and songs.  The evening will start with the gentle tales for the whole family.  Sensitive listeners may prefer to leave at the intermission as more chilling tales will be told during the second half of the program.  No registration necessary.

   After Hours Escape Room (Zombie Apocalypse)

Friday, October 27, 2017 from 5:30 PM to 08:00 PM

For adults and high school students. Can you save the world from the coming zombie apocalypse? Let's find out! When you arrive, you'll sign up to be on one of five teams. Each team will enter the escape room at a specified time and have to decipher the clues and locate the airborne "zombie virus" before it's released. Prizes will be awarded to the fastest team. Before and after your turn in the escape room, munch on some snacks and have fun playing other suspenseful games, such as Pandemic and Werewolf. Registration is required and space is limited. Visit the Information or Children's Desk, call 608-758-6600, or register online. Note: the library will close at 5:00 p.m. and then reopen at 5:30 for the program. No entrance after 6:30 p.m.
