Park Project Seeks Proposals for Structure, Entrance
The planning committee for the Downtown Riverfront Park Project invites
artists and architects to submit proposals for two new features for the
park that is located between Hedberg Public Library and the Janesville
Performing Arts Center on South Main Street in Janesville.
The first feature is an open-air structure that will serve as a focal
point for the 3.5-acre park along the Rock River. This structure will be
a multipurpose facility that can be used for performances or as a shady
spot for picnics or other events.
The second feature is an entrance to the park from Main Street. This
would be a welcoming overlook for the park.
The Friends of Hedberg Public Library and the Janesville Noon Lions Club
have spearheaded the fundraising for this effort. The park’s planning
committee is looking for designs that are consistent with the park’s
themes of reading and vision.
