Catch the Bug

The Children’s Room at Hedberg Public Library invites kids age 3 through grade 5 to Catch the Reading Bug @ Your Library! Once again, the library’s summer program is designed to encourage kids to spend time reading every day.

Sign Up Online or in the Children’s Room Starting June 2
Register children for this free program at the desk in the Children’s Room or online June 2 - July 27.

Upon registration, participants will receive a Buzz Book that will be used to track the number of minutes read each day. Kids will color in a picture of a bug for each 30 minutes read. The Buzz Book is also available to download when you register online.

Check in @ The Hive Starting June 9
As often as once a day starting June 9, children can visit The Hive at the library to report their minutes and receive their Honey Money and a stamp in their Buzz Book. Children can also earn up to two bonus stamps, with a maximum of nine stamps available to be earned each week.

Last year, Janesville area readers logged in more than 1,000,000 minutes! Can this summer’s readers do it again? Check out their progress on the bulletin board in the Children’s Room.

Spend Honey Money @ the Bee-Mart
Honey Money can be redeemed at the library’s Bee-Mart for prizes donated by the Friends of Hedberg Public Library and local businesses. The Bee-Mart will be open for business June 9 - August 3 during normal library hours.
