Buy the Book Club

• Experience the joy of reading new books - without having to find more room on your bookshelf.
• Help the library build its collection of books for the whole community to enjoy.
• Give a great gift: a book in the library dedicated to a child, friend or loved one.

How the Buy the Book Club works:

1. Select a title. This could be a book, audiobook, music CD, CD-ROM or other item the library currently has on order. If you don't have a specific title, you can browse publisher's lists of upcoming titles in the Sneak Preview section of the blue binder marked "People Say" at the Service Desk.
2. Check the library catalog to make sure item is listed as ON ORDER. You can do this yourself or ask Service Desk staff to assist you. If you are interested in an item that the library does not own and has not ordered, you can ask the library to consider buying it by filling out a Purchase Request card, but you cannot purchase it through Buy the Book Club until it is actually ordered.
3. Pay the library's discounted rate for that item (up to 43 percent off the list price). You will receive a donor plate to put in the book with your name – or the name of another person if you choose to participate as a gift or memorial to another person. You'll also receive a receipt for your tax-deductible donation to the library.
4. When the library receives the order, we'll notify you and you'll be the first to be able to check out that item. Remember to affix the donor plate when you check it out!
